{Weekly Wrap-Up} The One that was Hodge-Podged, lol:

Well, this week we decided to do a hodge podge of homeschool fun activities. I really just followed the girls' lead even more than usual this week. We did our Messy Funday Monday craft,  and had an abbreviated school week. Elle has been in gymnastics camp a couple of mornings this week, so Em, Ce Ce and I spent some quality fun time together.

We have some more structured lessons coming over the next couple of weeks until Elle starts her official hybrid Kindergarten/1st grade school year and Em starts pre-school two mornings a week at our church.

I still cannot believe we are winding down our summer....(sniff, sniff).

Elle enjoyed some time working in her 1st grade math workbook--she loves doing these!

Em continues to practice drawing and writing her name.
Em also loves working in her workbook and has starting understanding the concept of words rhyming now. She loves to make rhyming word pairs now!
Because Em has a a birthday coming up in August, she was playing with the flubber and birthday candles and silicone cup cake shapes.
The girls completed their Summer Reading Club through  our local library and earned these neat pencil boxes filled with goodies;). Em loves using the glue stick, lol.
Em also worked on her matching shapes and color words. She is really good at this now!
We made homemade pickles again! They are so easy to make and taste SOOOO much better than anything in the store!!

Em spent some quality time helping me in the kitchen this week! She is really turning into a BIG girl now! I still cannot believe she is going to be 3 already! She was JUST born it seems like!

We started the party preparations for Em's birthday. Em was so cute painting the laundry clips to make butterfly favors. She took this craft VERY seriously, lol.
Elle did a wonderful job helping paint the butterfly clips as well.
Em was busy trying to sneak the snacks, lol.
Elle put all of the painted clips in the box to dry.
We will assemble them all at the end of this upcoming week!
Some of our friends from church gave us this huge zucchini!! You know we LOVE zucchini (I guess word gets around, lol:). The girls had fun estimating how big it was and then measuring it with a ruler.

Of course, we made some whole wheat zucchini muffins!! This time, I substituted half of the oil in the recipe for applesauce and they were so, so good!!

The girls ate them up! We made another batch for my husband to take to work and also passed out some loaves of zucchini bread to our neighbors!

The girls also had a fun family outing! We went with Grandma, and 2 of our cousins to get frozen yogurt! So good and so fun!
The big girls are just growing up so fast...

We sincerely hope you are enjoying your summer and having an awesome weekend!
Blessings,
Aria:)

Messy Monday Fun Day!! Part 6

Wow----this summer is just FLYING by!! I feel like it has been going by so fast, but then at other times, I long for the cool nights and sunny days that fall brings. I am really not one to "love" the heat, especially when I cannot just enjoy being in water (the ocean or a pool), so I prefer fall. That being said, we have been doing our messy crafts early in the morning, trying to be the heat, but it still gets pretty hot and humid by 10am, and the girls are ready to get into the air conditioning---just like their mommy!! Ha, ha!

Here are the pics from our latest Messy Monday Fun Day! ~~Enjoy~~

Elle helped me prepare the paints in the muffin tins.
This week, we decided to do some outside painting on the huge white butcher paper we have.

The girls LOVED it and had a really great time being creative! *though, they still tend to not get very messy in the process--oh, well;0
Then, because it is so stinking HOT, the girls got all changed and wanted to spend some time cooling off in the pool!

Ce Ce just loves playing in the water!!
She also loves trying to drink the water-yikes!
I just LOVE seeing how affectionate the girls are with each other. It really warms my heart!!
Em was the same way as a baby, and still loves to give kisses! Yay! I hope the day never comes when they are too embarrassed to kiss us!
Ce Ce is ALWAYS looking for a kiss, LOL;-) I love her fish-face look!

Hope you are having fun staying cool this summer!!
Blessings,
Aria:)

Doctor Lessons, Part 2 {Weekly Wrap-Up}

We are continuing to enjoy our lessons on medicine! Our girls just can't seem to get enough of it!
Here is our Bible Memory Verse for the week!
Elle had a very easy time memorizing this one:)
Elle is working on her language arts and spelling skills. She loves doing copy work now!

Here, Em is doing some classification work. She is  separating living from non-living things. We just cut out some pictures from magazines and she sorted them out on the chart.
The girls had a ball playing with the Potato Heads. We hadn't pulled them out in a while. Of course, Elle had to be an OB/GYN and help Mrs. Potato Head deliver her baby:)
 Congratulations!! Ha, ha.
 I love these silly girls:-)
I printed off the Doctor Preschool Pack from Homeschool Creations and Em had a great time matching up the medical equipment with its shadow.
Here are some medicine bottles Em put in size order.

Elle has continued to work on her Doctor Lapbook.
Last week's Bible Verse was about being cheerful. Elle was writing out some ways she can be cheerful even if/when negative things happen.
Em is matching different size medicine bottles with a black and white copy I printed out and laminated.

Just some sisterly love:) Ce Ce was feeling extra snuggly and spent the morning in the Beco Carrier on my chest, so she gave lots of kisses to me and her sisters:)

These are little cards we printed out with ASL (sign language) pictures of medical terms.
Em pulled out the poker chips to put in the slot of the yogurt container.
Well, look at Ce Ce---she wanted to join in on the fun!! She loves the colored blocks!
Ce Ce on the move---trying to see what Em is up to. I think Homeschooling just got a bit more interesting;-)!
Awwww, Em so sweetly showed Ce Ce how to do the chips!!
Ce Ce (14 mos) was so proud! She wanted to show Elle her work!!
Em working on her closures basket. It was nice to be in the official classroom again.
Em checking out a discovery bottle (wave in a bottle).
Of course, Ce Ce wants to see everything the big girls do now.
 A little music time!

The big girls love reading this book about the human body!

Em still loves working on the Alphabet Box!

Elle attended Gymnastics Camp this week and LOVED it!!!

Man, she is such a grown up lady now. It makes me so sad...but, we are so blessed with her and so happy to have her!!!

We hope you are having a wonderful summer and enjoying some fun learning!!
Blessings,
Aria:)
