Weekly Wrap Up! The Letter T is for...

We had another WONDERFUL week of Homeschool (we are wrapping up a bit early to celebrate my birthday tomorrow-though, I am certain we will still have plenty of learning going on)!! I finally feel like we have found our footing and our journey is becoming a little more fluid and days are less bumpy. Now, that doesn't mean our days are not crazy, overwhelming and constantly challenging, but it is in a "good way." God is certainly providing the agenda for us-even when *I* want to do something differently, God's will is going to be done.

Proverbs 16:9 says~We can make our plans,
but the LORD determines our steps.

How awesome is that? I know I am a planner--I plan everything and that is a good thing. But, God is teaching me how to be flexible and how to listen to His voice for guidance and wisdom. I really thought I was going to be teaching our girls, but this whole homeschooling process has become one full of "Mommy Lessons!"
I am certainly glad that you are here-THANK YOU for reading and following us on our journey. If you are blessed by this blog, will you quickly say hello?
I would really appreciate it!
So, here is a bit of what we did this week. Enjoy!
The Letter of the week is T, the shape is heart and the number is 7.
Here is our Learning Chart--the girls get so exited to post up the new lessons every week!

The girls made these gorgeous tree silhouettes!! We got the idea here. They turned out so nicely we decided to frame them and hang them on the wall.
The girls LOVE seeing their artwork on the walls;)

Em got a bit tired of painting, so I helped her finish it.

Here Elle is using the beads to tell the story of the First Thanksgiving.
Elle (age 4.5) had a great time making this bracelet to help her remember and recite the story of the First Thanksgiving! We were praying about how to position the history of the Pilgrims arriving in America and their relationship (including the turmoil) with the Native Americans and were led to alter the traditional Pre-K story and make sure we included the contributions of the Native Americans in our history lesson.
Em had fun stringing a bracelet, but is still a bit young to recite the entire story.

We got the idea here, but used a few different beads to represent a more inclusive history lesson. But, you can get the general idea and make your own selections.

Here is a look at a few of our printables for the week. Our Bible Memory Verse was the 8th Commandment, "Thou Shall Not Steal." We also worked on Proverbs 22:6-
"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it."
I love to get printables from Confessions of a Homeschooler, Childcare Land and Totally Tots.

Em, 27 mos, loves using the pointer to do work. She is a very active student and this is just what she needs to get focused on her lessons!

We focused on hearts this week. Not only do we talk about the heart as a shape, but we discuss what God desires for us in our hearts. We really talk about our godly character traits that we are learning. This week's traits are gratefulness and thanksgiving. We learned "merci" is french for thank you. We also discussed how we should always give thanks to God for all of our blessings!! Here, Elle did some size sorting while Em worked on her "tops."

Em had fun stamping with hearts and stringing them as well.

I LOVE it when our children are expressive and happy and creative! Homeschooling was certainly the right decision for us!

To continue in our letter T studies, I introduced the girls to tools. They REALLY enjoyed working with their hands and hammering {especially after they saw me hammering the nails in the wall to hang their tree pictures}.

Em got super-creative and found another use for her screwdriver, lol.

Here are some of our Letter T activities.

Em loves "teaching" her baby doll how to write, lol.

Working on her triangles and with her trucks.

Em's Letter T tray=train, Tigger, tennis shoe and table.

Of course, Letter T is for "Tea Party!"

Elle's Letter T tray=tweezers, treasure chest, tables, tree and thread.

A little Ring around the Rosey before Library Story Time.

Here is Ce Ce (6 mos old) working on her discovery box. We really believe in the importance of  Heuristic Play for babies. We will change out her objects to give her 5 senses different mediums for exposure.

 Circle Time.

I just love those trees! Thanks for sharing about the Thanksgiving bracelet. I just finished a book called "Thanksgiving: The True Story" by Penny Colman. It was very informative. I plan, note the word plan, to write a review of it, I'll see if I have time. Was wondering where you got those tools.

I really enjoyed the picture of your daughter teaching her doll to write. Adorable.
