Homemade CHRISTmas Playdough Trees!

I found a really cute idea to make Homemade CHRISTmas Trees out of
Green Homemade Playdough..
We have made different playdoughs before, so of course, when I saw this, I just knew that our girls would LOVE to make it!

Of course, Em being the animal lover that she is, put a little doggie on her tree;)
Both Elle and Em really enjoyed this hands-on project! We used all kinds of fun treasures we had in our craft cabinet and, as you can see,
Em even hugged her tree because she loved it so much!!

Here is the simple recipe I use to make Playdough:

Playdough Recipe

Ingredients:
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
1 cup water
1 Tablespoon oil
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
Food coloring by drops

Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in a pan and stir.  Cook over low heat, stirring until a ball forms.
2. Add food coloring and mix thoroughly until desired color.
3. Cool on foil. Store in covered container.

I like to just dump everything right into the pan, mix it and THEN add
the food coloring and stir it in really well.
I usually have a dusting of flour ready to put on my hands
for the kneading of the dough. It is especially nice with an added
fragrance (we used ground cloves) and when it is still warm, it provides
such a nice sensory experience!

What other fun uses have you seen for playdough
this holiday season? We'd love to hear from you!!
As always, thank you for reading-we appreciate you!!
Blessings,
